In this post I will be here to tell you a little more about how to use the forum. From registering to changing your user profile. So, lets begin!
Registering
To register on the site, there are 2 links that you can click on to register at. There is 1 at the top of the screen in the menu, and 1 at the bottom in the log-in box. When choosing a username, pick 1 that you would use or do use all over the web/online gaming. Make sure there are no spaces or symbols in the name or the site will not take it. Once you have registered on the site, you will need to check your email for 2 emails. 1 saying that you have registered on the site and has your user name and password in it. The other is your activation key. Sometimes you may have to wait a few minutes before you get both emails, but not more than a day. Then log it using your name and password. Then enter in the correct information that it asks you. Then it will ask for your activation key, so enter that in. Then you can now use the forum!
**Note: no one under the age of 13 may join the site.
Rules and Guidelines
The forum has some rules and guidelines that need to be followed to keep order to the site. So after you join, you have some reading to do, not much, but make sure you know it.
Forum Rules
Rules on the Trading Section
How to have your Refs page
Chat Room Rules
PrEbay Guidelines
These are very simple and you will see these on almost any site thats similar to this one. Sometimes you may bend the Forum Rules and we will not care. But the biggest thing that we hate is Spam and Double+ Posting. There is a Spam board for spamming and use the edit button when you want to say something else or forgot to say something, use the "Edit" button in the top right corner of your post. Clicking that will allow you to change the post that you just made.
User Profile
Here I will teach you how to edit your user profile to the max. So to get into your user profile, click on the "User Profile" link in the left side of the menu at the top. There you will see what your profile currently looks like. To edit it, click on "Modify Profile," its near the top of your profile box. Here you will be able to edit your password to get into your account, your email that everything we send is sent too, gender, signature, avatar (avvy), etc. So lets begin the editing! There is a box here that says "Display Name" this is the name that everyone sees when you post on the forum. Before when I said that you could not enter in spaces or symbols for your name, well now you can. If you edit the Display Name, you will still need to log in as the name that you registered as. So if you do not want to edit your display name, password or email, scroll down a little to where it says "Personal Information." Here is where you wanna be creative. This is what everyone will see when you post. Here you can change your gender, location, web site name and link, avatar, signature, and personal text. For your avatar, you can pick 1 of the already entered avatars or use your own. To use 1 of already made avatars, click on the scroll down list and click on 1 that you would like to use. Or if you have your own, copy and paste the url in the "Avatar URL" box.
**Note: all avatars are set to 100x100 if no size is sepcified. Max size allowed on the forum is 100x100.
Then for the "Personal Text" you can put in a quote that you would like everyone to see. The personal text is shown under your avatar when you post. You can even use forum codes in the personal text and the signature to make them look really sweet! And for the signature, this is what will be seen under each of your posts. Here you can be creative as you like. To an extent, and what I mean by that is, you are allowed only 400 characters in the signature and 1 picture.
**Note: a character is a letter or symbol
Then the user notes are for you to keep extra stuff in, so if you have 2 signatures you like to use, but only want to have 1 at a time or different avatars. You can keep links and text in there for later use, and also make notes to yourself. Then below the Personal Information is the "Instant Messengers." Here you can enter your screen names for any IM (instant messenging) programs you may have. Then below that is the "Account Preferences." Here you can change how you see the forum. If you do not want to see anyones signature/avatar then you can turn that off to save transfer time if you have a slow computer. The invisible setting is to have it so other members on the forum can or can not see you/your age/your email.
**Note: the admin can see all
But the most important feature in the Account Preferences is the Skin Selection. This forum is very unique. Due to the fact that we house sections for 7 different Bandai games. I decided to make 8 different skins for the forum. 1 for the default skin, which you see everytime you come to the site; then 7 different skins, 1 skin designed specifically for 1 of the 7 games. When you select a skin, you will see it after you have updated your profile. The skin is essentially what the forum looks like. If you dont like the skin you can just go back in to modify your profile and change it to a different skin. But to update your profile, scroll to the bottom and click the button "Modify Profile." Then everything you just changed or entered, will show up in your profile. Click here for an example of a profile that has atleast 1 of everything in their profile, well its my profile....
Then after you update your profile you can also change the way you want your text to appear by clicking on "Posting Preferences," its in the same line as "Modify Profile." Here you can make all your text bold, italic, have an underline, a different color, and a "Tag-on." A Tag-on will add whatever you put there at the bottom of all your posts. Make sure you click on the "Update" button or it will not save your changes.
About the Forum
The forum is set up in 4 sections. The first section is all the card games that we have here. The second section is to play a game on the forum using either the chat rooms or by posting. The chat rooms can also be used as just a general chat area without posting. The third section is where all trading and selling is done. Cards or not cards, only sell none trading cards in the PrEbay section. Then the last section is for anything that is not related at all to card games, the Off Topic section.
For the first section, the card games are listed as followed:
Digimon
Gundam War
Naruto
Navia Drapt
One Piece
Teen Titans
Zatch Bell
If you notice the games are listed in alphebetical order. Once you click on the card game, it will take you to a list of Sub-Categories (Sub). Within each Sub is where you can post, read, or download about the card game. Each card game section has a "Mod" to watch over it so everything stays in order (more about Mods later). There is also a "Other Card Games" section too. This section does not have any Sub-Categories. Instead on this section, you can post about any other card game that is not Bandai Related. Click here for a little more info about this section.
The second section is where you can find opponents in your area to play, find opponents to play a game in the chat rooms or by posting. Make sure you stay in the right section when doing so. Also make sure you read the Chat Room Guidelines before using them.
The third section is about trading and selling. The "Trading Section" is where you post your haves and wants list for all the card games that you play. Make sure you only make 1 topic. Any others will be deleted upon finding. Use the Edit button when updating your haves/wants list. You can have all the card games that you play in 1 listing, Bandai or not. For more information on how the trading section works, click here. Then the "Refs Pages" are where you keep track of who you have and have not traded with. There is a simple tutorial on how to set up your refs page, click here to read it. Then the "Bad Traders" section is to post about a trader that ripped you off. Meaning, if you sent your cards and did not get theirs, post about it so everyone else knows. The last section is about buying and selling cards and other stuff. Make sure you read the guidelines on how to set up your listing, click here to read the PrEbay Guidelines.
The last section is called the "Off Topics" for a reason. They have nothing to do with card games. You can talk about other card games that we do not have listed in "The World." But mainly the world is for any topic that you want to talk about that is no where on the forum. But then there are some Sub-Categories in The World. Spam and Anime/Manga. In the Spam board you can have total freedom to post as many times as you like with no restrictions! Enjoy. The Anime/Manga section is where you can talk about...well anime and manga! Simple as that. Also in the Off Topic section is "Site Help/News." Here you can ask a question you may have about the site, or have a suggestion that may improve on it. Also we will post info about what is going on with the forum at the moment. Like raffles, tournaments, new stuff, etc. Next is the "Advertising" board. Here if you have a site that you own/created, you can post it here to try and get more traffic between our sites. Also if you would like to affiliate with this site, please post in the "Want to affiliate with the site?" topic. All the info about how to is in the beginning post. Then there is the "Graphics Board." The Graphics Board is where you can request/post images for anything. Also if you want to start up an avatar shop and make avatars for people, you can do that there too. Next is the RPG (role playing game) section. The "RPG" section is a free-bie section, where you can make any rpg that you want and see who will join. Then there is the "Fan Fic" section. Here you can post any story that you came up with and want people to read. Last is the "Video Games" section. Simple enough, talk and reply about anything and all video game topics. So please make sure you post in the right section.
What are Admin/Gmod/Mod?
These are the highest positions on the forum. The Admin (me) is the creator and ruler of the forum. Whatever I say goes! And thats all there is too it! The Gmod (Global Moderator) is the 2nd highest position on the forum, they are right below the Admin. They have the 2nd highest amount of power, and watch over what goes on everywhere on the forum. The Mod (Moderator) is the next level of the 3 high powers. They only have powers over certain areas over the forum that I specify. The only areas that they watch over are the card game sections. Please obey and do not make us mad.
Posting
Posting is very simple. Once you have found the section that you are going to post in, just click on the "New Thread" to create a new topic, or click on the "Reply" button when you want to respond to a topic. There is also the "New Poll" button if you want to create a topic with a poll that you want to have answered. All new topics/topics with new posts will have a "NEW" icon next to them or will be highlighted blue on the main screen. When making your post you have a few options to use. The first thing you need to do is if you are making a new topic, make sure you put in a subject, otherwise the forum will not let you post it. The "Add Tags" are if you want to do something to your post like change you text color or make it move. Theres more than just that, but those are the most used. Then when making your post you can also add smilies. You have 2 areas with smilies. The first is right about the box where you put your text, and the other is to the left of the box. There are even more smilies there and more are added every so often. Then once you have done everything you want to put in your post, just click on "Post Message." Before you want to post it, you can click on "Preview" to see what it looks like. Or you can click on "Spell Check" to make sure you spelled everything correctly. The "Reset" button is to clear everything that you did.
Private Messages (PM)
Every so often people will send you PM's. To see if you have a pm you can look at the Info Center at the bottom of the main page and it will tell you in there. You can also check your PM's by clicking on the PM link at the top in the menu. Also you can quickly go to your PM's by clicking on the PM link in you mini-profile. Your mini-profile is next to your posts.
Thats everything that there that you need to know to get yourself through a lot. If you have any more questions about how to use the forum, just ask it in the Site Help/News section.
